"I began to express myself through art when I was just two years old. My first artistic work was a picture of a young princess who wore a green dress and blood red crown on her head.

She stood in a meadow of violet-coloured grass, and pink clouds were scattered in the sky.

I couldn’t stop drawing since then.

I found true passion, happiness, and excitement in art. It is a tough and laborious job, but for me it is a labour of love. I live in a spectacular world full of inspiration and perfection in the smallest detail. It feels magical how images from past centuries, present day or realms of the future flow through my hands. Each time I take a pencil or dip my brush in paint or ink, all these visions materialise onto the canvas."

Iryna Dobrovetska

Bio

Iryna was born in 1971 in the city of St. Petersburg, then Leningrad, USSR. In her childhood years she moved to Odesa, Ukraine,

where she studied in Odesa Art School (M. B. Grekov Art School), graduating in 1994.

In 1995-1998 Iryna studied fine art in the Odesa Academy of Arts (in partnership with Athens Academy of Fine Arts).

She has been a member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine (painting section) since 2019.

She has extensive experience working as a scenographer in the National Opera and the Drama Theatre (Odesa, Ukraine).

Iryna's artworks are in private collections in Odesa, Kyiv, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, London, Prague, Venice, etc.

Iryna primarily works with oil on canvas, aquarelle, easel painting and graphics. She leans towards the "mystic realism" niche in fine art, often using allegorical details to tell a hidden story.

In 2022, after Russian troops invaded Ukraine, Iryna was forced to flee her motherland and rebuild her artistic career from ground zero

in a foreign country. She eventually found her new home away from home in London, UK., where she continues to create beautifully vulnerable artworks, inspired by the world around her.
